Westminster School Tour Thursday 17th July 2025

23 Members and wives/partners gathered in the carpark at the school for a comprehensive tour. Despite being on Annual Leave, we were met by Peter Trenorden, the Communications Manager who had been at the school for 21 years. Set on 23 acres located between Alison Avenue and the Sturt Creek in Marion where it replaced vines and fruit trees, the school was opened in 1961. We toured the various buildings including the Murray Centre for Performing Arts, the Thomas Pavilion, the indoor Sports and Swimming Centre, the Sturt Grove Farm and even the David Jarman Centre for Performing Arts. Many comments were heard about the facilities in the student workshop area. Most impressive was the very modern architecture sitting comfortably amongst the older building. Boy, school has sure changed since I was a student!
